Mrs R.Scott (Chair of Governors)
I have lived in the village since 1977 and have been a Governor since 1985. My three children all went to the Schools. As a member of the Governing Body I feel I can support the school, be a critical friend and involve the school into village community life and it’s traditions. My background is accounts, running my own business and teaching.
Mrs C.Evans (Vice Chair of Governors, Chair of Curriculum, Standards and Outcomes Committee)
I have had the pleasure of being a Governor at Harefield Infant and Harefield Junior Schools for more than 25 years. I have an Hons. Degree in Politics and Economics from the OU which I am very proud of, studying with children around is no mean feat! My work experience has taken me from working at Tesco to chairing a charity, in doing so I have gained experience in staff management, personnel, governance, compliance and a little employment law. The school has seen many changes over the years for various reasons and has gone from strength to strength, adapting where necessary, growing and developing as a result. I have been honoured to be apart of that process, to use my skills, knowledge and experience to enable the schools to achieve their successes. Being a school governor is a continuing and ongoing learning experience, ensuring that the children have the best learning environment we can give them can be very challenging. To have a committed governing body is integral to the success of any school community and it is an honour to be apart of this one.
Mrs M.Henry (Parent Governor, Chair of Finance, Personnel and Premises Committee)
I’m mum to 2 children who attend Harefield School and am thrilled to be part of their Governing Board. I want to be part of a team helping the school to be the best it can be for all children. I will bring my personal experience of being a mother, with children at Harefield, as well as my professional experience as a Qualified Accountant and IT Manager.
Mr A.Britton (Parent Governor)
I am a local parent and both my children currently attend Harefield Infant School. I have worked for large corporate business for the last 15 years and mainly focused on strategy, governance, planning and change delivery. I was motivated to become a governor to support the schools continued drive to improve and help to guide positive changes. I have a particular interest in the development of support strategies for children that have additional learning needs. I am very passionate about the local community and believe that a school needs to be at heart of this. In my spare time I enjoy running, cycling and walking the family dog.
Miss L.Churchill (Staff Governor)
I am the EYFS Leader and Assistant Head Teacher as well as a Staff Governor, on the Curriculum and Standards Committee. I have worked at Harefield Infant School since 2007 and love working in this unique village school, supporting the families and providing an excellent education for all the children. I live in Harefield and my son also attends the school so ensuring the school continues to improve, provides a broad and balanced curriculum and supports the happiness and wellbeing of all children is something I am extremely passionate about.
Miss R.Thompson (Co-opted Governor)
I joined the governing board as I wanted to contribute to improving educational standards so that children and young people can meet their full potential.
Mr D.Todd (Co-opted Governor)
I have two children at the school and have been a member of the Governing Body for the past 4 years. I have taught in both state and independent sectors and overseas; and have been involved in education for almost thirty years. As a Governor, parent and resident of the village, I am absolutely invested in the success of the school and the wellbeing and success of our children. By helping to support the teachers and senior leadership team, it is my hope that Harefield pupils will be happy and confident, and leave our school equipped with the tools and skills to make the most of their future.
